YOU ARE IMPORTANT

It is the policy of First Step Day Nursery to work with parents/carers, recognising and respecting that you know your child best, and have his/her best interests at heart. We will work with you, ensuring that we are doing our best to keep your child safe and secure whilst creating an atmosphere of playful learning.

ENROLLMENT

We look after children aged 0-5.

Once you have had a look around, you will receive your application folder which details the fees, arrangements and our terms and conditions. There is also an application form for you to fill in and return to us with a £40 registration fee. You will then be added to our waiting list. Getting onto the list is not a guarantee of a place, but it does mean that we know that you are interested.

The waiting list varies depending on time of year. The sooner you apply, the better the chance of getting the days that you want.

INCLUSION

Children of all abilities are welcomed at First Step Day Nursery, subject to a meeting between parent/carers and other medical professionals to ensure that we are able to meet the child’s individual needs. We may require extra funding in order to provide extra resources, staff or special equipment.

OPENING TIMES

First Step Day Nursery operates Monday – Friday between the hours of 8am – 6pm daily. Session times are from 8am to 12pm or 2pm – 6pm.

The nursery closures are as follows:

  • Up to a maximum of 2 weeks over the Christmas period.
  • From 4.30pm once every month for staff meetings and training to enable us to maintain quality of care.
  • For five full days a year for staff training (dates to be advised).

Parents are advised that all closure dates are given well in advance and are displayed on the Parents’ notice board.
